OnVoice for Chrome: Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
OnVoice for Chrome is made by OnSuite. Contact: privacy@onsuite.in
In short: your writing is checked on your computer and is not sent to us or anyone else.
What the extension does with your text
- Spelling and grammar checks run locally inside the extension, using a grammar engine bundled in the package. No text is sent over the network for checking.
- The extension makes no network requests of its own and has no analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking.
- We do not collect, store, sell or share your text, browsing history or any personal data. We run no servers for this extension and there are no accounts.
Optional OnVoice Mac app features
These work only if the OnVoice app for Mac is installed on the same computer. The extension talks to it through Chrome Native Messaging, which stays on your computer.
- Fix and Rewrite. When you click either, the extension sends the text you selected (up to 20,000 characters) and the site's hostname to the OnVoice app. The app rewrites it on your Mac with an on-device model and returns the result. This happens only when you click, and the text does not go to us.
- Dictionary Sync (OnVoice Pro). The extension asks the OnVoice app for the words in your OnVoice dictionary, so names and terms you use are not marked as mistakes. It asks when Chrome starts, every 30 minutes, and when you click Sync now. The word list is kept in the extension's storage on your device. Nothing is sent from the extension to the app except the request itself.
How the Mac app handles data is described in the OnVoice privacy policy.
Data stored on your device
Settings, your personal dictionary, words synced from the OnVoice app, ignored suggestions, pause state and per-site on/off choices are saved in the browser's extension storage on your device. Removing the extension deletes them.
When you remove the extension
Chrome opens a short goodbye page on our website. The extension does not send any data with it.
Permissions
The extension asks for access to all sites so it can underline mistakes in text boxes wherever you write; it uses this only to run the local check. See the Chrome Web Store listing for each permission's purpose.
Children
The extension is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
